Student Leadership

In Term 1 of each year, students in Years 4 – 6 elect two of their class members as Student Representative Council members. This SRC executive represents the views of students to the Principal, Assistant Principals and School Council as appropriate.

The SRC also conduct activities such as socials, various House competitions such as Athletics and Swimming carnivals and involves itself in fundraising to support different causes. All student leaders are presented with a badge of office at a formal Leaders’ Investiture Assembly.

The school also creates and supports many other student leadership opportunities.  We highly value our Sound Technicians, Student Librarians, Guardian Angels, and our Eco Warriors who work in the areas of Litter Legends, Recycling, Gardening and Re-usable products such as making bees wax wraps and shopping bags.

Student Leadership is valued at Parap Primary School. In Term 4 of each year, Primary students participate in an electoral processes to decide who will be their School and House Captains and Vice Captains for the following year.

Year 5 students participate in a full electoral cycle, including formal nominations, election campaigns and speeches to constituents. Years 3-5 participate in a formal, preferential voting process supported by the Northern Territory Electoral Commission.
